I was curious about clay shooting and wanted to learn how you aim at and shoot the launched clays in competition, so my wife and I booked the trial course. The soft-spoken owner welcomed us and gave the lesson. Rather than the strict driving-school instructor I had imagined, he taught us the simulator and the light gun (about the same weight as a real firearm) as kindly and politely as a hotel front-desk manager. You can make the simulator settings tougher, and it was fun enough that I want to take on that challenge next time.
I visited because you can try clay shooting — something I’d long wanted to do — even with no experience. A room in a building with a huge screen, a whole other world; it got me excited! The owner teaches carefully, so you feel at ease. The gun was heavier than I expected, which was a thrill — apparently the same weight as the real thing. I’ll be back!
